This is idiotic

I wasn't going to post a blog today. It's a holiday, and no one's reading. But it is total bull$#!+ that Steve Mariucci benched Joey Harrington for Jeff Garcia with three minutes left in the first half. Even the FOX announcers (Troy Aikman, especially) are bewildered.

Maybe I'll eat these words along with my turkey later if the Lions come back to make this game interesting. But has a coach ever been fired during a game? This asinine decision reeks of desperation. Does Mariucci even watch the game when he's "coaching"? Does he really think Harrington is the reason the Lions are down 17-0? Was that interception his fault?

I'm so close to turning off this game entirely.

being a Lions fan has got to be tough. Joey Harrington is just an easy scapegoat. He might not be that bad of a quarterback, but he will probably go down as one of the biggest busts in draft history... that is unless he can find a new team and start a new career.

The lions are just bad all around.

Agree with you about Harrington. He has some really bad games but this wasn't terrible. Now maybe Mariucchi was looking for a real spark, someone to come in and really explode and score some points in a hurry. Has he watched Garcia at all this year and last? What made him think Garcia was going to perform a comeback? Now if they are up 17 he could maybe manage the game and eek out a win, but for hell's sake he's not Peyton Manning.

That game was brutal to watch. Mooch has no idea what he was doing. Really shocked he wasn't fired the next day.
