WDFN and WXYT are confirming FOX Sports' report by Jay Glazer that Steve Mariucci has, in fact, been fired as Detroit Lions head coach.
Dick Jauron will take over the position, and according to WDFN, a couple of other assistants, including offensive line coach Pat Morris, are joining Mariucci out the door.

Jauron for whatever reason is demanding that he has no interim tag and be given a contract beyond this year. WDFN is saying that if Jauron continues to be an ass then it will go to QB Coach Greg Olson.
Long time overdue if you ask me.

I guess that's savvy on Jauron's part, but if Millen gives into such an outrageous demand, he's a complete and total moron.
C'mon, who has the leverage here? Jauron should just thank Millen and take the opportunity to take five games to show he's still head coaching material to the rest of the NFL.

I'm sure Millen is the next to go. Maybe he can get up on Joey Harrington's shoulders and they can walk out together.
